Oh Yeon-joo could finally be honest with her feelings again now that Kang Cheol is aware of everything. After gaining access to the comic book W in the world W, Kang Cheol is starting to understand his connection with Yeon-joo. A portal opens up to the real world and they enter through it together. They appear in Oh Seong-moo's office where Kang Cheol learns that the cartoonist's face has been absorbed by the culprit. At first, Kang Cheol decides to take the tablet apart but ends up putting it back together to confront the culprit. He lets him know the portal has been destroyed and that the culprit is forced to live in a frozen world all alone. The culprit isn't concerned because things will go back to normal after Kang Cheol is deemed an unnecessary character and gets erased.
Kang Cheol sets off on a mission to relearn everything about Yeon-joo and their past relationship. He's able to use the comic book he read as a guide to their feelings and romance. Yeon-joo is glad to be back with him and that she isn't the only one that remembers what they had together.
Kang Cheol is able to explain to Yeon-joo why his plan with Oh Seong-moo for a happy ending in W didn't work. Seong-moo already met the culprit on the rooftop back when Kang Cheol was stabbed. He promised the culprit that he would make him the main character if they got rid of Kang Cheol. That's why even though the comic was rewritten as a dream, the culprit was still aware of everything. Kang Cheol discovers his ability to enter and exit W by sheer willpower. They team up with a plan to stop the culprit for good. This time, Yeon-joo will need to redraw the comic as planned, but Kang Cheol told her to have the two of them get married at the end. He enters W in front of the culprit's apartment. After getting into a fight with the culprit, Kang Cheol ties him up and calls the police reporting that the mass shooter has been caught. With perfect timing, Yeon-joo draws him an escape car and corpse to fake his own death. He transports himself back into W to return to Yeon-joo.
