Cartoonist Oh Seong-moo thinks back to when he first started noticing the comics altering themselves years ago. The first time he saw Kang Cheol seem alive was when he tried to end the character's life by having him jump off the Han River Bridge. When he woke up the next morning the comic had redrawn itself with Kang Cheol hanging onto the bridge with one arm above the water. He thought it might have been the alcohol affecting him, but took it as a sign to continue the comic W.
Oh Yeon-joo appears back into the clothing store in W unconscious. Kang Cheol carries her to his car and takes her back to his penthouse. A doctor comes by to check on her and hook her up to some medication that made her loopy. She tells Kang Cheol a bunch of personal things about him that no one should know including the time he tried to commit suicide on the Han River Bridge. She even knew that he always sleeps with a gun under his pillow. As he starts trying to piece things together to figure out her identity, a dark hooded villain with a gun enters his home. They get into a fight and the gun slides across the floor. As the figure gets into the elevator, Kang Cheol follows him and grabs the door right before it shuts. Thinking he's got the culprit cornered, the elevator doors open up and it's empty. His bodyguards finally appear and explain they received a phone call from the head bodyguard Seo Do-yoon telling them to meet on the roof. They later confirmed it wasn't a real call from him. Do-yoon is also one of Kang's closest friends and his right-hand man. The incident leaves Kang Cheol scared and more confused because nothing is making sense.
Yeon-joo wakes up a couple of days later and immediately tries to come up with a plan to get back home. She notices some see-through lingerie and figured flashing him would be shocking enough to get the chapter to end. Kang Cheol and Do-yoon enter the room where she's holding her robe open, eyes closed. Do-yoon awkwardly leaves the room and grabs Secretary Yoon So-hee with him on the way out before she could see anything. Kang Cheol laughs as he asks her what she's up to first thing in the morning. When she gets embarrassed and realizes it didn't work, she points a gun at him. She attempts to fire a shot at the ceiling, but the gun wasn't loaded. He unloaded the gun knowing that an unpredictable woman was staying at his place. Kang Cheol takes the gun from her and loads it with a single bullet to aim at her. He demands answers or he'll turn her into the cops. She explains that she's been acting so brazenly because shocking his emotions allows her to leave. To test her theory, Kang Cheol approaches her to kiss her, but nothing happens. Yeon-joo insists she's not lying, but after giving her ten seconds to answer truthfully he shoots her. The bullet goes right through her with no blood and she faints from being startled.
Yeon-joo awakens to find herself still in W. Kang Cheol asks if she's mad, but tells her he was aware that she can't die here. He's determined to get answers for all of his questions so he's going to keep her in his penthouse to protect her from the media and police until he returns from his trip. She realizes she's the only always summoned to W because Kang Cheol believes she's the key to his life.
