After entering through the portal to the real world, Kang Cheol finds himself walking around aimlessly until he notices a bus ad for the comic series W. He panics and heads straight to a bookstore in search of the comic whose main character is identical to himself. He starts tearing through all the plastic packaging as he reads through every single W comic book. He couldn't believe what he was reading, his whole life story laid out on paper for all to see.
Kang Cheol remembers the name of the hospital Oh Yeon-joo said she worked for and goes searching for her. He tells her that he finally understands her perspective and regrets learning the truth about his world. She can't believe he was able to transport out of W but asks him to wait for her to finish doing surgery. She knows she isn't as wealthy as he is in W, but she is a doctor in this world and can return the favor of caring for him. He passionately kisses her after agreeing to wait for her return. The kiss was his last farewell to her because he appreciated her consideration for him.
Kang Cheol heads to cartoonist Oh Seong-moo's home and discovers that Yeon-joo is his daughter. When Seong-moo gets home, they get into a fight and he tries to cut Kang Cheol with a box cutter. Kang Cheol hits him over the head with his gun causing him to bleed. He tells him that it's finally a fair fight because Seong-moo can get injured in this world unlike in W. Seong-moo left his phone on with Yeon-joo listening on the line as she was rushing to get there from the hospital. Kang Cheol remembers pulling Seong-moo into W before Yeon-joo the night he was stabbed by the hooded villain. Instead of helping, Seong-moo picked up the knife and stabbed him again putting him in critical condition. As Kang Cheol fought to survive, he was able to stab Seong-moo to push him off. However, just like the time Yeon-joo got shot in W, Seong-moo also got away without any injury. With the gun pointed at Seong-moo, Kang Cheol demands the cartoonist finish the comic with its original ending instead of trying to kill off the main character. He needs to come up with a proper ending that the main character would accept to save his friends from being in limbo. Seong-moo relentlessly provokes Kang Cheol by telling him that all of his actions are predetermined and that he's just an illusion unable to shoot him even if he wanted. Also, there was never a culprit and that it's just fiction to boost the characters determination. He tells Seong-moo that he's just a pathetic man with no control over his own life so he needed to live his dreams through W. As rage overtakes him, he shoots Seong-moo in the chest and leaves the scene.
